ICAO Air Cargo and Mail Security Course - AVSEC Training

The Albanian Civil Aviation Authority organized an ICAO course focused on protecting air cargo and mail against acts of unlawful interference on January 20th - 24th 2020. This course was led by two ICAO instructors, Mr. Urban Blaznik (Slovenia) and Jana Podolková (AVSEC & Emergency Training, Czech Republic). The course attendees come from both state authorities (Civil Aviation Authority, Police, Customs and Post Office) and the International Airport of Mother Teresa in Tirana staff.

As part of the five-day training course, they were introduced the legislation requirements and the security controls related to air cargo and mail. The individual parts of the supply chain were defined including the requirements for their approval. During visit at the cargo terminal at Tirana airport the trainees had the opportunity to test their knowledge in practice. An integral part of the course was also the implementation of monitoring activities.
