General security awareness training
(in accordance with point 11.2.7 of the Annex to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998)

Who this course suitable for

  • All staff of the known consignor (permanent, temporary or agency staff, drivers) with access to air cargo/air mail

  • All persons involved in collecting, carrying, storing and delivering air cargo/mail to which security controls have been applied on behalf of name of regulated agent/air carrier applying security controls for cargo or mail/known consignor/account consignor

  • All persons with access to in-flight supplies and airport supplies

Duration: 2 hours

Validity: 2 years (or depends on national legislative requirements)

Learning Objectives: To learn and be aware of civil aviation security threats.  Besides covering general information the participants will gain the perspective of the kinds of unusual situations they can encounter in their field of work and with this training will receive the knowledge to be able to respond and deal effectively with the situation.


Course Content:

Previous acts of unlawful interference with civil aviation, terrorist acts and current

Relevant legal requirements

Objectives and organisation of aviation security in their working environment, including the obligations and responsibilities of persons implementing security controls

Reporting procedures

Response to security related incidents

Duration: 4 hours

Validity: 2 years

Duration and validity depend on individual national legislative requirements.

Method of Delivery: Training consists of theoretical elements and airport tour (should be done as a virtual tour)

Learning Objectives: To learn and be aware of civil aviation security threats.  Understand the requirements of airport identification cards, security controls and procedures.  Gain knowledge and perspective on how to deal with unusual situations that may arise in your field of work and how to respond.  

Course Content:

Previous acts of unlawful interference with civil aviation, terrorist acts and current threats

Relevant legal requirements

Objectives and organisation of aviation security, including the obligations and responsibilities of persons implementing security controls

Configuration of the screening checkpoint and the screening process

Access control and relevant screening procedures

Airport identification cards used at the airport

Reporting procedures

Response to security related incidents
