On Board Aircraft Security - BAS 2016 - AVSEC Training

AVSEC & Emergency Training was the official partner of the Workshop BAS2016 – On Board Aircraft Security held on 19 – 21 October 2016 in Bratislava under the patronage of the Slovak Presidency of the Council of the European Union and Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development of the Slovak Republic. The workshop was dedicated to flight and cabin crew practical training in the field of response to acts of unlawful interference especially the issue of unruly passengers and bomb on board.

Representatives from eight countries and EASA attended and discussed the requirements for flight and cabin crew practical training in accordance with standards and recommendations of international organizations for civil aviation (ICAO, ECAC) in the context of EU legislature, the differences of attitude of the appropriate authorities as well as airlines to the duration of training etc.

The participants tried to use the restraint kits, practised the self-defence against on board aggression and trained manipulation with IED on board. The Slovak TV JOJ broadcast the reportage from the workshop in the main news on 21 October 2016.
