On 26-27 September 2017, a Workshop for AVSEC Instructors was held in Prague. The workshop was attended by participants from Germany, Italy, Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Latvia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The workshop focused on the issue of mutual recognition of security training and trainers' qualifications within the European Union. Emphasis was placed mainly on the different approach in providing training, the use of e-learning and the issue of certificate validation.
Two geusets accepted an invitation to the workshop. The first one was Mr. Alex Kunz from CASRA (Switzerland), who introduced modules for the computer based training of security staff serving RTG / EDS equipment and other possibilities of using e-learning. The second guest, Mr. Steve Williams from DSA Detection (UK), highlighted the problem of automatic explosive detection on RTG / EDS equipment, and introduced the tools – inert improvised explosive devices for training of security staff.
