An important part of the cabin crew and airport security staff training is the self-defence. This is an important way how to response to discipline and order violation or aggressive behaviour aboard, including the use of bundling techniques. Training should also include self-control exercises in emergency.

The participants of the Workshop on Global Threats in Civil Aviation held in Prague on June 4th-5th 2019 were able to get familiar with the elements of self-defence and self-control, both in theory and practices.

Under the expert guidance of Mr. Roman Štědrý, the workshop participants could try some simple handles that can be used to control the aggressor. In cooperation with the Fire Rescue Service of the Prague Airport, the demonstrations of the abuse of commonly available substances to determine the on-board personnel by fire was introduced. The brave attendees could experience the feelings when they were exposed the fire roll out in full force.
